Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden has a cycad collection that visitors can visit if they forget they are in South Florida. It includes representations from many of the 315 species of the planet. This is one of the largest and most diverse collections of cycads with over 700 accesioned plants. All cycads have been declared endangered. The rare and endangered species collections contain approximately 4,000 plants from about 100 endangered, threatened, or rare species in South Florida and Puerto Rico. 15 of these species are federally endangered.
