Miami’s Model City, which also goes by Liberty City, is well known for having ties to Martin Luther King Jr. He visited the area frequently while speaking about civil rights. Numerous popular musicians also come from the area, as well as several NFL players. The area features affordable housing which is perfect for new and established families alike. Beautiful bungalows are scattered about with attractive parks between. Liberty City has some of the best Haitian and soul food around, as well. As locals try to get away from the more populated Miami and South Beach, Model City has taken on a local vibe in a big way, with the nightlife picking up dramatically.

Model City offers multi-unit complexes that are a great alternative for the younger individuals in the area. The single family homes are also quite affordable, and located near the majority of the schools to the west Model City. If you’re on a tight budget, Model City is a great destination. Model City has numerous small restaurants that have made quite the local impact. Soul food has become a local staple in the culinary scene, with happy diners coming back again and again. You can also find various restaurants around the neighborhood, adding to the vibrant culture of the Model City area. You’ll also find a large number of Haitian restaurants, which are quite popular locally. Stop by one for a meal with local flair and flavor that you’re sure to enjoy and will find difficult to forget.

WHAT YOU’LL SEE IN MODEL CITY

The city is quite hot, and many residents spend a lot of their time inside. You may not see them out and about during the day, unless they’re walking their dog or washing their car. You may also see them hanging out at the community pool or local park, which tend to be centers of the community. Streets are dotted with small local parks, where families with small children gather for exercise during nice weather. You’ll also find numerous historic landmarks, like the Hampton Hotel, mingled in with the houses that line the street attractively. Enjoy wandering through the neighborhoods, taking in the sights.

Local residents enjoy attending the Liberty Music Festival, which takes place annually. Each summer there’s also an Independence Day celebration and a rib cook-off, both bringing the entire area together for family fun. For adults who dislike the tourist scene, you can find the best local vibe at some of the downtown clubs after dark.

Consider relaxing on a weekend morning with breakfast at MLK’s Restaurant. Martin Luther King had deep ties to the city, and its residents remember his legacy with pride. Families also worship at community churches or visit local parks regularly to play outdoors with their children. To get from central Model City to the Coast To Coast Seafood Grill, located at 4350 NW 17th Ave, Miami, FL 33142 , head south on NW 12th Ave for 0.4 miles to NW 46th ST. Turn west (right) onto NW 46th ST and continue for about 0.5 miles to NW 17th Ave. Turn left (south) onto NW 17th Ave and proceed about 0.1 miles and the Coast To Coast Seafood Grill will be on the right. From the Coast To Coast Seafood Grill to Valley Grove Missionary Church, located at 1395 NW 69th St, Miami, FL 33147, proceed north on NW 17th Ave about 1.5 miles and turn right (east). Drive 0.3 miles to NW 14th Ave and turn left . The Valley Grove Missionary Church will be on the left. See Map Below:

 

 

 

 

 

 

To get from the Valley Grove Missionary Church to Snappers Fish & Chicken, located at
6700 NW 7th Ave, Miami, FL 33150, you head north on NW 14th Ave 0.1 miles to NW 71st ST. Turn right onto NW 71st and drive about 0.8 miles to NW 7th Ave. Turn south (right) on NW 7th Ave and proceed for 0.2 miles to Snappers Fish & Chicken on the right side.

 

 

 

 

 

 

From Snappers Fish & Chicken to St. Mary’s Wesleyan Methodist Church, located at 4798 NW 8th Ave, Miami, FL 33127, you drive south on NW 7th Ave for about 1.2 miles to NW 47th Ter. Turn right (west) onto NW 47th Ter for 0.1 miles to NW 8th Ave and make a right turn. The St. Mary’s Wesleyan Methodist Church is located on the left. See Map below:

 

 

 

 

 

 

From St. Mary’s Wesleyan Methodist Church to our office at 806 Douglas Rd, Miami, FL 33134, you begin heading north on NW 8th Ave about 85 ft toward NW 48th St and turn left onto NW 48th St to drive 0.1 miles to NW 10th Ave.  Turn left at NW 10th Ave and continue about 0.2 miles to NW 46th St. Turn right onto NW 46th St and proceed driving about 1.3 miles to NW 22nd Ave. Take a left at NW 22nd Ave and drive about 0.3 miles .  Then turn right to merge onto FL-112 W toward Airport continuing for 0.2 miles to then merge onto FL-112 W where you will continue to drive for 1.6 miles.    Proceed to get into the left 2 lanes to merge onto FL-953 S/NW 42nd Ave/S Le Jeune Rd and drive for 3.3 miles down Le Jeune to SW 8th St/ Tamiami Trail and make a left. Drive for 0.5 miles to SW 37th Ave/Douglas Rd. and turn right. In @ 46 ft, our office building is on the right. Come on up to the 5th Floor.   See Map below:
